Research Submission Guidelines

Get Published. Change Minds.

IUCJ’s long-form publications conform to the style of a traditional academic journal. We seek to publish, rigorous, high-level academic research that engages with existing literature and creates new knowledge for the academic sphere. These pieces receive primary consideration for publication within our annual academic journal volume.

  • We accept submissions in both Chinese and English.

  • Word Limit: 1250-6000 words preferred, but articles outside of this range will still be considered. Images count towards the word limit; a half-page image is equivalent to 150 words.

  • References: The Chicago Manual Style (17th edition)

  • Formatting: 12-point Times New Roman, double-spaced with 1-inch margins

  • To ensure our submissions meets the highest academic standards, we ask that your paper include a brief statement of endorsement from a professor, academic advisor, or relevant scholar. Though endorsements are optional, papers with endorsements will be given first consideration for publication.

  • Please include your name, university, expected graduation year, and an abstract for your paper in the body of your email.
