Derrick Liu is a senior at New York University studying politics and public policy. He has worked for Wagner School of Public Policy specializing in research of NYC-MTA and its regulation. His recent published papers focusing on human rights movements in China as well as the evolution and institutionalization of nationalism and populism. His research interests include political deliberation, governance legitimacy, and geo-political conflict. He serves as the co- operator of 17 Rooms - a Rockefeller Center funded NGO that specializes in cross-regional efforts in promoting the UN’s 17 SDGs. He enjoys travelling, playing board games, and reading.
