Episode 4: Andrew Cao

In this episode of Connecting the Dots, we invited Andrew (Yu) Cao to join us and discuss his growing up experiences in France, China, and Canada and attending Northwestern University for journalism. At Northwestern, he dedicated himself to the expansion of the university’s undergraduate academic journal, the Northwestern Undergraduate Research Journal. 

After graduating this May, Andrew currently works at Phoenix Television, a large television network in China. Here, he talks about his multicultural identity, perceptions of Canadian versus American high schools and universities, assuming different personalities when speaking different languages (he speaks French, Mandarin, and English), and why he chose to study journalism. He also shares valuable insights on what makes one a good journalist.
